Video Forum 2003

This year's Video Forum at the Wembley Exhibition Centre runs for three days (Tuesday February 11 to Thursday 13) and opens from 9.30am to 5pm (4pm Thursday).

The show will cover the three key production areas of video, audio and animation/special effects and will have 120 exhibitors specialising in production (shooting, lighting, sound recording), post-production (non-linear video editing and DVD production), new media and streaming.
As usual, Computer Video will have a stand (277), where it will be possible to pick the brains of the editorial team and of expert freelancer contributors and friends of the magazine and DVdoctor message board.

As well as CV's editor and deputy editor, the line-up will include broadcast-technology authority Alan Roberts, and MediaStudio Pro maestro Richard Jones. Also fielding questions will be Alcatel's Belgian streaming video guru Hendrik Dacquin; Ray Liffen, ex-BBC ace cameraman and founder of Intech Services; and DVD wizard Peter Wells.

Each of the three is also giving a seminar wearing a CV hat, so make sure to book your seats. On Tuesday (13:00), Hendrik will explain how to pick and choose between streaming formats. On Wednesday (11:15) Ray will be outlining the options for those who want to move up from basic video editing software.

And, on Thursday (13:00), Peter Wells will advise on how to make DVDs as compatible as possible.

Ours are among 80 free seminars covering a wide range of topics, from camera technology and advanced editing techniques, to broadcasting from a desktop PC.

Full seminar programmes are available from any of the three webs sites listed below:
Video Forum; www.videoforum.co.uk
Sounds Expo; www.sounds-expo.co.uk
ViZFx; www.vizfx.co.uk

Companies attending this year's event and demonstrating their latest products will include Adobe, Pinnacle, Avid, Canopus, Dazzle, Ulead, DVC, Edirol, Datavision, Apple and Sony.
